Upcoming Webinar on Creating Inclusive Cities: Communities of Solidarity that Work for Everyone

Webinar on Creating Communities of Solidarity that work for everyone in Inclusive Cities

Join us on 21 November together with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and UN-Habitat as we discuss the lessons learned of two initiatives that are working to address supporting refugee, migrant, IDP, and stateless residents across the Americas and create more inclusive cities.

In the Americas, most refugees, asylum seekers, stateless, and internally displaced people live or move in urban or peri-urban areas where they look for safety as well as job opportunities, access to education and health, and better living conditions in general. While local authorities play a crucial role for creating inclusive environments for those living and working in their areas, they often face financial and technical barriers to providing the necessary support to their refugee, migrant, IDP, and stateless residents. Many of the cities hosting large numbers of refugees are already struggling to provide long-term city residents with low-income housing and have stretched education and health services.

During this event, we will hear from the organizations supporting the initiatives and local authorities involved in their implementation and examine which elements of these projects may be taken forward as more mainstream initiatives.

This webinar is free to attend.
